When you see the airplane (plane) icon on the load board, this indicates that the mileage between the origin and destination is air miles instead of road miles. Not all city combinations are available to provide road miles, when this happens, DAT displays air miles instead.
Note: This mileage should not be used for trip calculations as it is a straight line between the two cities and not an actual reflection of the miles it will take to drive between them.
